PROFESSIONAL EXPERIENCE

2019 (Seattle): Delem set career highs in games played (23), starts (17) and minutes (1,439) in his third MLS season. He appeared in a career-high four postseason games in 2019 and totaled 56 minutes while recording one shot. He came on as a substitute to play five minutes in Seattle’s 3-1 MLS Cup win over Toronto (November 10).

2018 (Seattle): Delem followed up his inaugural campaign for the Sounders with a breakout season in 2018 as he registered 16 MLS appearances during the regular season, including 10 starts. The Martinique international tallied his first professional goal in a 3-1 win over Minnesota United (April 22) at CenturyLink Field. Operating primarily as a defensive midfielder, he helped shield the back line as Seattle collected critical road points in a 2-1 win at Toronto FC (May 9), a 0-0 draw at the New England Revolution (July 7), and a 1-1 tie at Atlanta United (July 15). Delem also played a pivotal role in Seattle securing a second-place finish in the Western Conference, with the midfielder earning consecutive starts in wins over the Houston Dynamo (October 8) and Orlando City SC (October 18) late in the season. He also spent time with Sounders FC 2 in USL play, starting four matches for the reserve side.

2017 (Seattle): Delem signed with the First Team ahead of the 2017 MLS campaign following a strong rookie season with Sounders FC 2 in 2016. The versatile defender played a variety of positions in his 14 MLS regular season appearances – nine of them starts – including right back, center back and defensive midfield. In second start of the season, Delem registered his first MLS assist and played a pivotal role in a 3-0 win over the LA Galaxy (April 23). He also made two appearances in the Audi MLS Cup Playoffs, starting in a scoreless draw on the road against the Vancouver Whitecaps (October 29) and playing 31 minutes as a substitute in a 3-0 win at home over the Houston Dynamo (November 30). Delem also played 90 minutes in Seattle’s 2-1 win over Portland in the Lamar Hunt U.S. Open Cup (June 13).

2016 (Sounders FC 2): In his first season with the club, Delem starred at centerback for S2. He made 19 appearances and recorded one assist in a 1-1 draw against Whitecaps FC 2 (August 6).

2015 (AC Arles-Avignon B): Delem made 11 appearances and scored one goal for the French club’s reserve side in 2015.

2011 – 2014 (Club Franciscain): Delem established his professional career with Martinique side Club Franciscain in 2011.

INTERNATIONAL EXPERIENCE

Delem has made 38 appearances for Martinique’s National Team, netting five goals. He scored a goal in both the 2012 Caribbean Cup qualifiers against the British Virgin Islands and 2017 Caribbean Cup qualifiers against Dominica. Delem also represented Martinique at the 2013 CONCACAF Gold Cup. Additionally, appeared for his nation in the 2017 CONCACAF Gold Cup, where he played every minute of all three group stage matches. In 2018, the midfielder earned three caps for Martinique, including two starts in the newly formed CONCACAF Nations League.
