Atlanta trade Mo Adams to Inter Miami for Dylan Castanheira
TRANSFER TRACKER STATUS: Trade Atlanta United have traded midfielder Mo Adams to Inter Miami CF in exchange for goalkeeper Dylan Castanheira, the clubs announced Friday.
Atlanta United acquired goalkeeper Dylan Castanheira on Dec. 17, 2021 from Inter Miami CF.
Castanheira, 26, signed with Inter Miami CF on Jan. 27, 2021 and made two starts this season for the club’s USL League One team, Fort Lauderdale CF, where he also played during the 2020 season. He made 11 appearances with Fort Lauderdale in 2020, all of them starts, and ranked fifth in USL League One with 44 saves and won Save of the Week three times. On Sept. 3, 2021, he was loaned to San Diego Loyal for the remainder of the USL Championship season and made two starts. Castanheira signed his first professional contract with Atlanta United 2 prior to the 2019 USL Championship season and made 21 appearances.
The Landing, New Jersey native attended Columbia University from 2014 to 2018 where he made 44 appearances and was named Ivy League Defensive Player of the Year and a two-time First Team All-Ivy League selection while setting the school record for career clean sheets with 25.
