Career Summary

CAREER

2022: Morales started the 2022 campaign brightly, scoring on his first appearance of the year against AD Santos, but would unfortunately see his season hampered by injury. A regular starter – named in 21 of 24 NYCFC XIs in the MLS regular season (with an impressive passing accuracy of 90.2%) – he suffered a lower leg injury in August and then endured a setback upon his return, managing just 26 minutes of our Decision Day trip to Atlanta United, unfortunately ruling him out of playoff contention.

2021: The U.S. international signed for New York City Football Club in April 2021 and added a veteran presence in midfield. Morales played 27 times during his first campaign with NYCFC, and played in all four of the Club's playoff games. He also found the net during the penalty shootout win against New England Revolution, helping his team advance to the next round.

Career: Morales played over 100 matches in both the Bundesliga and 2. Bundesliga across three clubs (Hertha Berlin, FC Ingolstadt 04, Fortuna Dusseldorf) and helped Hertha win promotion in 2011 and 2013 while also pushing Ingolstadt to the Bundesliga in 2015. He scored 12 goals and added 16 assists from his midfield position throughout his time in Germany.

International: Although born in Berlin, Morales represents the United States on the international level and has earned 16 caps for the USMNT. He played in both of the U.S.’ last competitive matches in November 2019 during Concacaf Nations League victories over Canada and Cuba.

Youth: The midfielder began his career with hometown club Hertha Berlin and graduated from their youth academy
