HOW ACQUIRED: Traded from Nashville SC in exchange for $250,000 in General Allocation Money on Jan. 21, 2021
Jones made 18 appearances (nine starts) in Nashville's successful expansion campaign. Naturally a defensive midfielder, Jones spent time playing in a more attacking role for Nashville as well. He reunites with Dynamo head coach Tab Ramos, who coached him with the US U-20 side, including at the 2017 FIFA U-20 World Cup.
OUTSIDE MLS: After a stellar amateur career, Jones signed a professional contract with Bethlehem Steel FC on Dec. 6, 2015, becoming the first-ever signing for the USL expansion club that is owned and operated by Philadelphia Union. Through 20 games at Steel FC this season, Jones led the team in goals (4), assists (3) and was fourth in minutes played (1,478).
