Kei Kamara has returned to his roots during the MLS offseason, surprising kids with a street soccer pickup game in his native Sierra Leone.

The veteran forward, who has scored 130 regular-season goals in 359 appearances for eight different MLS teams, posted a series of messages on social media describing how he was driving along when he saw some children had lined up their own field. The 36-year-old turned his car around, got out and played a pickup game those kids won’t soon forget.

Kamara, a native of Kenema, Sierra Leone who moved to the United States at the age of 14, has made 27 appearances for the Sierra Leone national team. Kamara is currently a free agent after his short spell with Minnesota United came to an end following the 2020 season.
