Four more years.
That was the message out of New York on Saturday as U.S. Soccer's membership re-elected Sunil Gulati by unanimous consent to a third term as president of the USSF. Gulati, who ran unopposed, has served in that position since 2006.
“I’m honored to be granted the opportunity to serve our membership as president of the U.S. Soccer Federation,” said Gulati in a press release put out by U.S. Soccer. “Over the years, soccer has made numerous strides in the US and we are excited by the sport’s boundless potential for growth in the future. I’m looking forward to being part of soccer’s bright future on all levels throughout the country.”
Gulati will continue to wear multiple hats both in and out of the world of soccer. In addition to his day job as a lecturer at Columbia University, he is an advisor to the Kraft Group -- owners of the New England Revolution -- and continues in his position on the FIFA Executive Committee, to which he was elected last spring.
