Jordan Morris - Seattle Sounders - solo - September 2020

English Championship club Preston North End expressed interest in Seattle Sounders forward Jordan Morris via US-based intermediaries but no official bid was made nor did official negotiations ever begin after it became clear the US international would be well out of Preston's budget, sources tell

Seattle view Morris as one of the best players in the league and would only consider a transfer fee reflecting that. Preston finished ninth in the Championship last season.

Morris, 25, has been one of the league's top wingers over the last season and a half. He has seven goals and six assists for the Western Conference-leading Sounders in 13 appearances (10 starts) this year, after posting 10 goals and seven assists over 26 appearances in 2019 as he helped lead Seattle to hoist MLS Cup. He has 39 appearances with the US national team, including appearing in each of their last nine competitive matches.

In 2016, Morris opted to turn down Bundesliga interest to sign his original Homegrown contract with the Sounders. He was training with Werder Bremen and was offered a contract with the club, as well as receiving interest from various European clubs, after starring at Stanford University.
