Save of the Week

Seattle Sounders' Stefan Frei wins Save of the Week for fully-stretched diving save

Stefan Frei saw his shutout streak come to end last Sunday, but he did manage to come away with a consolation prize.

The Seattle Sounders goalkeeper took home Save of the Week honors for a diving save on Mike Grella that helped the Sounders beat the New York Red Bulls 2-1.

Frei beat out the second-place finisher, Cascadia rival David Ousted, by nearly 15 percentage points to take home the award. This is his second Save of the Week win of the 2015 season, and gives the Sounders a clean sweep of the Week 13 Goal and Save of the Week honors after Marco Pappa won AT&T Goal of the Week honors for his curling strike against the Colorado Rapids
