It appears that Jorge Claros' stay with Sporting Kansas City could be over almost as quickly as it began.

A report on Saturday out of Honduras from journalist Julio Cesar Nunez indicated that the defensive midfielder had traveled to China to sign with Qingdao Jonoon, who currently play in the Chinese second division:

February 21, 2015

Claros signed with Sporting on July 16, 2014, and played 419 minutes in the remainder of last year's regular season, with four starts spread across seven appearances. He also played in all four of Sporting's CONCACAF Champions League group stage games, starting three.

The 29-year-old was a part of the Honduras squad that competed in the 2014 World Cup in Brazil, where he was a second-half substitute in the Catrachos' opener against France and subsequently played the full 90 minutes in games versus Switzerland and Ecuador.

When reached by MLSsoccer.com for comment on the report, a Sporting KC spokesperson said that Claros "remains on Sporting Kansas City's roster at this time and is under contract with Major League Soccer until further notice."
