How can you tell we're getting oh so close to the start of the 2016 MLS regular season (March 6)? The preseason came to a close on Saturday with 15 MLS teams in action. Here's what went down:


MLS Preseason Schedule & Results


Philadelphia Union top Toronto FC 0-1


The action kicked off at 4 p.m. ET in sunny St. Petersburg, Florida, where the Union and Toronto FC are squaring off in the last match of the Suncoast Invitational. The final result? Philadelphia 1, Toronto 0, the Union's day saved thanks to a goal by CJ Sapong.

Vancouver Whitecaps beat Minnesota 3-1


The Whitecaps woundnd down their preseason today in Portland at 5:30 p.m. ET, but it wasn't necessarily a cake walk. They went up against Minnesota--soon to be an MLS team!--who have long ago proved their on-field mettle.


Still, the 'Caps rallied and easily found a 3-1 victory, thanks to two goals from Pedro Morales and one from Octavio Rivero.

Red Bulls are wrapping up Florida trip against Jacksonville


The Red Bulls are ready for their home opener on Mar. 6, and they've got just one more game tonight in Florida to sharpen their skills. At 6 p.m. ET, they arrived for a game against NASL team Jacksonville Armada--who are now coached by former Red Bulls 'keeper Tony Meola!

Houston Dynamo face Sporting Kansas City


The Houston Dynamo are looking to come roaring back and prove themselves in the 2016 MLS season. But they'll face some fierce opponents in Tucson, Arizona in their preseason finale tonight: Sporting Kansas City.


The game kicks off at 6:30 p.m. ET, and you can stream here on SKC's site, or here on the Dynamo site.

Montreal get rowdy with Drogba in Tampa Bay


The Montreal Impact are also wrapping up their trip to Florida tonight, with the last game of the Suncoast Invitational Tournament. They'll play NASL side the Tampa Bay Rowdies in St. Petersburg, starting at at 7 p.m. ET. And guess who's back for his first 2016 game with the team? The man, Didier Drogba himself!

NYCFC square off with some of Iceland's best


New York City FC also say goodbye to Florida tonight with a preseason friendly against a top team from decidedly colder climes: Iceland's Reykjavik FC.

Orlando City take on Esporte Club Bahia


Orlando City fans should get ready to #FillTheBowlAgain for this super-hype last game of the team's preseason, at their own home, the Citrus Bowl.

Chicago Fire face a tough test in Portland

Colorado Rapids face Frank Yallop's Arizona United SC


The Rapids are looking to wrap up the Desert Diamond Cup in Tucson with a win tonight as they play Arizona United SC. Their opponents won't be easy, considering the man at Arizona United's helm has plenty of MLS experience--he's Frank Yallop, former head coach of the Chicago Fire.

Columbus Crew SC meet New England in Tucson


Columbus Crew SC are facing the New England Revolution tonight in their last game of the Desert Diamond Cup game in Arizona. But it might be extra important for Crew SC in particular. It's their last competitive game before their first of the regular season, in which they'll face no less than the defending MLS Cup champions, the Portland Timbers. Columbus head coach Gregg Berhalter says they'll be looking to "push the minutes in this match."
