Morales is a playmaker who transformed Vancouver when he joined the team in 2014, winning MLS Newcomer of the Year that season. The experienced Chilean is one of the best passers in MLS and the midfield maestro for the Whitecaps.

INTERNATIONAL: Morales has represented the Chilean national team at senior level 11 times between 2008-10, playing for legendary coach Marcelo Bielsa and scoring three goals for his country. He also played for Chile at the U-20 and U-23 levels.

OUTSIDE MLS: He began his career in Chile for Huachipato before moving to Universidad de Chile. In 2008, he went to Croatian side Dinamo Zagreb, returning to Universidad de Chile on loan in 2012 before moving to Spanish club Malaga on loan in 2013. He made the deal permanent the following season. Morales won a Chilean league title and domestic cup with U. de Chile, three league titles with Dinamo, two Croatian domestic cups and the Croatian SuperCup. He also won the 2015 Amway Canadian Championship with the Whitecaps.
