Philadelphia Union hosting D.C. car smashing promotion for charity

John Hiatt made pretty clear his disdain for smashing guitars to close out a rock show. But he might just be OK with the Philadelphia Union's latest shot across D.C. United's bow.

In a direct challenge to everyone who supports the Black-and-Red, the Union have released this little metaphor describing their hopes for Saturday's I-95 Derby encounter (3:30 pm ET | UniMás - full TV & streaming info).

It's all for a good cause, of course. Union fans attending the game will have a pregame opportunity to smash a car to benefit the Philadelphia Union Foundation, the club's charitable arm.

If you're interested, be sure to check out Toyota Plaza at Talen Energy Stadium pregame. And if you're rethinking all together your need for an automobile, don't worry. Amtrak and SEPTA have you covered!
