The New York Red Bulls are seeking their first winning streak of the season as they face club legend Thierry Henry and his Montreal Impact Sunday night at Red Bull Arena.

The Red Bulls (5W-6L-2D) are coming off their most emphatic win of the season, beating Inter Miami CF 4-1 in Fort Lauderdale Wednesday night while the losing streak for the Impact (5W-7L-1D) is now three after a 3-1 defeat to the New England Revolution Wednesday.

New York won the first nine regular season home games in the series, but the Impact snapped that streak with a 2-1 victory in the last game at Red Bull Arena on May 8, 2019.

New York Red Bulls

A Red Bulls team that has struggled to create chances in the final third exploded for a season-high four goals against former goalkeeper and captain Luis Robles in a 4-1 victory over Inter Miami Wednesday night. It was Miami's heaviest, and first home, defeat to date.

"Four goals, listen, you don’t get too high on four goals, it’s just three points,," interim coach Bradley Carnell said after the match. "We just have to take this game in the right way and really react to this in a professional manner. This is our job for the coming couple of days and it’s a quick turnaround. We can enjoy this tonight on the way home on the plane, but tomorrow it’s back to work and we’ve got a tough opponent in Montreal."

Montreal Impact

The Impact weren't reduced to 10 men for the first time in three games, but the result was the same as the previous two with Montreal falling to the Revs 3-1 at Gillette Stadium. It's now three straight defeats and losses in three of the last four games for Henry's squad. How can they rebound?

"Trying to play, and stay true to what you're trying to do," Henry said after the match. "That didn't happen today, but like I said, we have a game so we have to play. ... It is what it is, I hope it was a one-off today in terms of what we're trying to do because the way we lost against Philly, playing with 10 men, trying to play and still bossing the first half and even Vancouver, but today was totally different. It looked like we were a bit tired physically and mentally."
