NEW YORK (Monday, September 21, 2026) – New England Revolution defender Peyton Miller was voted the Major League Soccer Player of the Matchday for Matchday 27 of the 2026 MLS season.
Miller produced his first career multi-goal game and scored the game-winning goal in New England’s 4-2 home victory over Orlando City SC (Watch Highlights From His Performance Here). The 18-year-old Miller has already set single-season career highs in goals (seven), assists (four), goal contributions (11), and game-winning goals (three). Miller joins Julian Hall and Cavan Sullivan as one of three teenagers this season to record at least seven goals and four assists. He is one of just 11 players in league history to do so. In regular season matches that Miller has started this season, New England is 10-4-4 and averaging 1.89 points per game. With his strong play, Miller earned his first U.S. Senior National Team call-up last week and will join the Stars and Stripes for a series of four friendly matches in September and October.
With New England up 1-0 in the second half, Miller used his speed to break free on the counterattack and slot home his finish past the Orlando City goalkeeper (Watch Here). After Orlando City scored two goals to tie the game, Miller stepped up again in second-half stoppage time to grab all three points. Revolution forward Diego Fagúndez found Miller darting through the defense and the 18-year-old curled left-footed effort that nestled into the corner of the net for the game-winning goal (Watch Here).
Miller is the second Revolution player to earn MLS Player of the Matchday honors in 2026, joining Alhassan Yusuf (Matchday 21). He is the second-consecutive teenager to be named MLS Player of the Matchday after Cavan Sullivan won for Matchday 26.
Next up for Miller is his first U.S. Senior National Team camp, where they will play four matches from September 26 through October 6. The Revolution are back in action on Saturday, September 26 when they travel to face Real Salt Lake (9:30 p.m. ET, America First Field).
The MLS Player of the Matchday is selected each matchday of the regular season through both media and fan voting in a process conducted by MLS Communications. A panel of journalists from the North American Soccer Reporters (NASR) comprises 75 percent of the vote, while an Instagram fan vote represents the remaining 25 percent of voting. NASR consists of members of print, television, radio, and online media.
