  • San Diego FC forward Milan Iloski became the first player in club history and the third player in MLS this season to score four goals in a single match, joining Brian White (April 12) and Sam Surridge (April 26). Iloski’s four goals came in the 35th, 37th, 44th, and 47th minutes. He became the 10th player to have three goals in the span of 10 minutes or less in a single half.
  • Nashville SC forward Sam Surridge registered a hat trick against the New England Revolution, marking his second game with at least three goals and fourth multi-goal game this season. Surridge took over the top spot in the Golden Boot presented by Audi race with 15 goals.
  • The Philadelphia Union became the first team to reach 40 points in 2025 and are tied as the fifth-fastest team in MLS history to reach the mark, doing so in just 19 games.
  • Sporting Kansas City orchestrated a wild late-game comeback, scoring twice in second-half added time to overcome a deficit and win for the first time since 2015. Kansas City saw goals from Mason Toye in the 90’+3’ and Dejan Joveljic in the 90’+6’ to steal a victory from Charlotte FC.

Iloski Nets Four Goals in First Career MLS Start

Making his first-career MLS start, San Diego FC forward Milan Iloski put on a show in a showdown against then-Western Conference-leading Vancouver Whitecaps FC, scoring goals in the 35th, 37th, 44th, and 47th minutes to power the expansion side to a 5-3 road victory. With the win, San Diego (36 points, 11-5-3) jumped Vancouver for the top spot in the Western Conference as it looks to become the second expansion team in three seasons to take home the conference crown (St. Louis CITY SC in 2023).

Appearing in his 14th career MLS game, Iloski stole the show for San Diego, becoming the first player in club history and the 20th in MLS history to score four goals in a single match. Three players have scored four goals in a single match this season: Iloski, Nashville’s Sam Surridge (April 26), and Vancouver’s Brian White (April 12). The 26-year-old forward also became the 10th player in league history to score three goals in a span of 10 minutes or less in a single half.

With seven goals across his last three matches, Iloski has been one of the hottest players in Major League Soccer – scoring all seven of those goals in the span of 135 minutes.

San Diego hits the road on Saturday as they travel to face FC Dallas at Toyota Stadium (8:30 p.m. ET, MLS Season Pass on Apple TV / Apple TV+).

Surridge, Nashville Strike the Right Chords

Thanks to a hat trick from English striker Sam Surridge, Nashville SC (35 points, 10-4-5) earned a 3-2 road victory over the New England Revolution and climbed into the top three of the Eastern Conference table. The win extended Nashville’s unbeaten streak to 10 matches, tying the longest single-season streak in club history.

Surridge opened the scoring in the final minutes of the first half, rising above his marker to head home a cross from Jonathan Pérez (Watch Here). With his first-half goal, Surridge joined Hany Mukhtar (2022) as the only players in club history to score in five consecutive regular season matches.

Surridge added his second goal of the night after a corner kick with Daniel Lovitz lobbing a cross towards Surridge who took advantage to send the ball to the back of the net (Watch Here). He completed his hat trick as he converted a shot from the penalty spot, calmly sending his shot to the right as the goalkeeper dove left (Watch Here). Surridge surged to the top of the race for the Golden Boot presented by Audi with 15 goals this season and leads Nashville with 19 goal contributions. After completing his hat trick, Surridge became the seventh active player to reach his third career hat trick.

Nashville will look to keep their unbeaten run alive on Saturday when they travel to face D.C. United (18 points, 4-9-6) at 7:30 p.m. ET (MLS Season Pass on Apple TV).

Union First to 40 Points in 2025

The Philadelphia Union saw Bruno Damiani score a 10th-minute penalty-kick goal and staved off a potent Chicago Fire FC attack for the remainder of the match, as the Union secured a 1-0 road victory at Soldier Field. With the win, Philadelphia (40 points, 12-3-4) held onto the pole position in the Supporters’ Shield standings and became the first team to reach 40 points in 2025.

The Union tied the 2021 New England Revolution, 2020 Toronto FC, and 2001 Miami Fusion as the fifth-fastest clubs to reach 40 points in a single season, excluding the shootout era. FC Cincinnati owns the mantle as the fastest club to reach 40 points in a season, doing so in the club’s 17th game in 2023 en route to their first Supporters’ Shield in team history.

Six of the seven teams to previously accomplish the feat in 19 games or fewer went on to win the Supporters’ Shield in their respective season: 2023 FC Cincinnati (17 games), 2006 D.C. United (18 games), 2010 LA Galaxy (18 games), 2019 LAFC (18 games), 2021 New England Revolution (19 games), and the 2001 Miami Fusion.

Philadelphia returns to action on Sunday night as they travel to face the Columbus Crew at Lower.com Field (6 p.m. ET, MLS Season Pass on Apple TV / Apple TV+).

All-Star Evander shines with FC Cincinnati

FC Cincinnati (36 points, 11-5-3) inched closer to the top spot in the Eastern Conference with an impressive 3-1 road victory over CF Montréal, fueled by a standout performance from Brazilian attacking midfielder Evander. The newly-minted All-Star delivered a brace and an assist, directly contributing to all three of Cincinnati’s goals on the night.

Evander opened the scoring with a well-placed strike at the end of the first half (Watch Here) before providing the assist on Cincinnati’s second goal, after a series of passes with Luca Orellano (Watch Here). Evander sealed the night in the 83rd minute, completing his brace with a one-time effort to seal the victory (Watch Here). With this performance, Evander became only the second player in club history – joining Luciano Acosta (2022, 2024) – to record at least 15 goal contributions in fewer than 1,500 minutes in a single season.

Cincinnati continues to build momentum as they look to secure a third straight road win on Saturday, June 28, when they travel south to take on Orlando City SC (7:30 p.m. ET, MLS Season Pass on Apple TV). With the top of the Eastern Conference tightly contested, another strong showing could see Cincinnati make a serious push for first place.

With the win, Kansas City (19 points, 5-10-4) continued their climb towards the Audi MLS Cup Playoffs picture and sit in 12th place in the Western Conference standings.

Sporting Kansas City earned the club’s first victory after trailing in the 90th minute since April 5, 2015, when it defeated the Philadelphia Union, 3-2, after trailing 2-1 entering second-half stoppage time.
