As 2011 draws to a close, MLSsoccer.com is taking the opportunity to look back at the best, worst and most memorable moments of the year that was.
We’ll look back at the best games, biggest controversies, worst blunders, rising stars and all the crucial and emotional moments that made this year one we’ll never forget.
Our Best of 2011 series will begin on Monday, Dec. 19, when we unveil what our editorial staff voted as the Game of the Year in MLS. From there, we’ll announce one award per day, ranging from the best American Export to the worst gaffe, leading all the way up until Jan. 2, when we predict which player will be a breakout star in MLS in 2012.
We’ll also be counting down the 11 biggest Stories of the Year as voted on by our staff, beginning on Dec. 21 and culminating with the Story of the Year, which will be revealed on New Year’s Eve.
And last but certainly not least, we need your help to decide the biggest category of them all. Voting for the Moment of the Year is now open, with 20 distinct moments from 2011 to choose from. We’ll unveil the winner on New Year’s Day.
It all adds up to our tribute to 2011, a memorable year for players, coaches, fans and all of us here at MLSsoccer.com. Hope you had as much fun as we did.
