MLS Disciplinary Committee fines Asprilla, Veron, Cabrera, Molino

The MLS Disciplinary has issued fines to four players and warned two teams following Week 28 of the 2017 MLS regular season.


Asprilla simulation/embellishment

The MLS Disciplinary Committee has found Portland Timbers midfielder Dairon Asprilla guilty of simulation/embellishment and fined him an undisclosed amount. The incident took place in the 84th minute of Portland's match against Real Salt Lake on September 16.


Veron simulation/embellishment

The MLS Disciplinary Committee has found New York Red Bulls forward Gonzalo Veron guilty of simulation/embellishment and fined him an undisclosed amount. The incident took place in the 84th minute of New York's match against Philadelphia on September 17.


Montreal-Minnesota mass confrontation

Both the Montreal Impact and Minnesota United have been found in violation of the league's Mass Confrontation Policy. The incident occurred following the conclusion of the teams' match on September 16. As this is both clubs' first violation of the league's policy this season, they have each been issued warnings.


Additionally, the Disciplinary Committee has issued Montreal defender Victor Cabrera and Minnesota midfielder Kevin Molino fines of an undisclosed amount for instigating/escalating the mass confrontation incident.
