TRANSFER TRACKER STATUS: Signing
Inter Miami have signed free agent defender A.J. DeLaGarza, the club announced Monday. The news comes hours after Miami announced the signing of Luis Robles.
DeLaGarza, 32, spent the last three seasons with the Houston Dynamo, where the fullback was a regular member of the starting XI when fit. He spent the first eight seasons of his career with the LA Galaxy, winning MLS Cup three times. He has made 261 regular-season appearances and has played in a further 16 playoff games.
“His versatility and experience are vital for the club," sporting director Paul McDonough said in a club statement. “Pair that with his leadership ability, and he will be able to come into preseason ready to contribute.”
DeLaGarza originally debuted for the US national team in 2012 before switching alliances to Guam in 2013, where he has made 14 appearances.
