Save of the Week

Houston Dynamo's Joe Willis wins Save of the Week for Week 24

Houston goalkeeper Joe Willis won his first MLS Save of the Week presented by Phillips 66 Lubricants honor of the season, taking home the Week 24 award for a reaction save on San Jose's Alberto Quintero in the Dynamo's 2-1 victory over the Earthquakes.

Willis made the stop on Quintero in the 56th minute. Quincy Amarikwa sent in a cross from the right side, and Quintero ran in for a close-range header -- only to be denied by Willis, who dived to his left to parry the ball away and deny the Quakes an equalizer.

Willis posted a wide margin of victory over New England's Steve Clark in the final, taking 60.2 percent of the vote, after advancing past Real Salt Lake's Nick Rimando and the LA Galaxy's Clement Diop in earlier rounds.
