The Guardian's history of World Cup kits interactive guide

What's the best World Cup kit of all-time?

If only there was an interactive database of World Cup kits from the past which would allow us to look at and choose our favorites of all-time.

Enter The Guardian's "World Cup kits through the ages – interactive guide." It's got every World Cup kit worn by every one of the 32 countries competing this summer from every tournament in which they've ever competed.

Just as fashion undergoes a significant transformation every decade, so do World Cup kits.

Surely someone else feels like the red and white "waving stripes" jersey form the 1994 World Cup is criminally underrated, only because that USMNT's infamous denim kit hogs all the attention. In fact, I feel very strongly about this.

In fact, the deeper I dig and choose every nation's best World Cup kit thus far, it keeps coming up 1994 over and over again — particularly Colombia, Germany, The Netherlands, Italy, Nigeria and Spain. Have a look at those and try to say you don't agree.

Here's a sample of a few of the USMNT's World Cup kits over the years. To see the rest, as well as the other 31 countries competing at next month's World Cup in Brazil, this is where you need to click.
