Dos a Cero? It all started 14 years ago today at Crew Stadium | SIDELINE

Dos a Cero. It's a tradition unlike any other.

Many newer USMNT fans are under the mistaken impression that the first Dos a Cero happened in the summer of 2002, when the US beat Mexico (I don't have to mention the scoreline, right?) in the World Cup Round of 16. That's the most famous version of what's become a broken record, but not the original.

The original came 16 months earlier, on the frozen tundra of Crew Stadium, and today is the 14-year anniversary (H/T to the good folks at /r/MLS for the reminder).

Take the time to watch the highlights above – and try not to get caught up in "what could have been" if Josh Wolff and Clint Mathis were just a little more durable.
