Charlotte - scouting team - THUMB only

As Charlotte MLS continues building toward their 2021 MLS debut, the club continues to assemble a sizable technical staff.

That includes three new hires in the club's scouting department under scouting director Thomas Schaling, Ryan Bailey wrote on the club website earlier this week.

Sports psychologist Lisandro Isei and data and video scouting specialist Vincent van Raam both join Schaling's staff from the Netherlands, and Serbian-based scout Davor Brasanac also comes aboard.

Isei has served as a psychologist for players in the Belgian and Dutch top flights as well as the English championship, and before that had experience as a player scout for Willem II and FC Dordrecht in the Netherlands.

Van Raam began his scouting career with Eredivisie side AZ Alkmaar before moving on to the agency side of the business. He has developed a specialty on data analysis and video scouting that is especially crucial as the club focuses on identifying talent while the coronavirus has halted live matches across the globe.

Brasanac transitioned into scouting following a playing career in Serbia. His brother Darko is an established La Liga midfielder, having played regularly in Spain's top flight since the 2016-17 campaign. Brasanac has personal experience working under Charlotte sporting director Zoran Krneta, who previously founded the global scouting network Star Sports & Entertainment, which had helped channel players to MLS, the English Premier League, La Liga and Serie A.

Charlotte began building its technical department by hiring Krneta just before New Years. Technical director Marc Nicholls came aboard a week later, with Schaling's arrival announced a week after that. Last month, longtime Premier League scout Steve Walsh joined Charlotte as a special advisor.
