American Exports: Cherundolo recovery timeline unknown

Steve Cherundolo with Hannover

AMSTERDAM – Hannover 96 are unsure when captain Steve Cherundolo will be able to return following a minor procedure on his troublesome left knee last week.

The US right back has yet to dress since the Reds emerged from the Bundesliga winter break. Cherundolo did train with the team intermittently before a specialist recommended the surgery.
"We cannot say in days or weeks when he will be back on the field," Hannover press officer Alex Jacob told MLSsoccer.com. "It was a small operation and now he needs time to work with the physios."

In Cherundolo's absence, Die Roten have won two and lost two, allowing seven goals. They start Europa League knockout play at Russian side Anzhi Makhachkala on Thursday before visiting Timothy Chandler's FC Nürnberg for Sunday's league contest.
