TRANSFER TRACKER STATUS: Report
According to the report from Toni Juanmarti, the Spanish club has been tracking Busio for the better part of a year now, intrigued by his overall skill set and continued progress on the field. However, they're yet to make a formal offer.
Busio has long been the subject of speculation regarding an eventual overseas move, and Juanmarti's report states that other teams have inquired about his services, including Bayern Munich and Fiorentina. Should he move to Barca at some point, Busio would become the third American to join the club alongside US men's national team outside back Sergino Dest and winger Konrad de la Fuente.
Busio has made 48 first-team appearances (26 starts) for Sporting since 2018, recording five goals and five assists in 2,351 minutes played. He made 19 appearances in 2020 with 15 starts, scoring a goal and dishing out three assists in 1,275 minutes.
