LA Galaxy's Javier "Chicharito" Hernandez assures he won't fail amid dry stretch

LA Galaxy star forward Javier “Chicharito” Hernandez took to Instagram Friday, promising to do better for his new club.

Since signing last offseason, Mexico’s all-time leading scorer has one goal in 10 matches (seven starts) upon coming to MLS. He’s not been in the matchday squad for LA’s prior two games, marking his second absence after suffering a calf injury this past July during the MLS is Back Tournament.

Chicharito’s post also comes one day after head coach Guillermo Barros Schelotto was fired. There’s been speculation around the Designated Player departing the club, as he’s struggled to settle in upon joining from Sevilla.

_ I know I haven't been at my best level lately. But I am already working hardest than ever on a personal and football level, to retrive all that confidence you have given me with results. I know exactly what LA Galaxy represents and I understand the responsibility I have with our fans, with the people of Los Angles, with the board and with my colleagues. Even though today I am not going through my best football moment, I am commited to work harder to improve myself and change things. I have a huge commitment to all the people who gave me the opportunity to accomplish another dream by playing here, but mainly to myself and believe me: I will not fail. Thank you for trusting me still.
