He had already scored the first goal in Red Bull Arena in an international friendly against Brazil’s Santos and on this day 10 years ago, former New York Red Bulls midfielder Joel Lindpere also struck for the first regular season goal in the stadium’s history.
The Estonian, who is currently the Sports Director of JK Tallina Kalev, hit a thunderous strike from just outside the 18-yard box, blasting the first-time effort off the bounce with his less preferred right foot. It was the only goal in the win over Chicago Fire FC.
