TRANSFER TRACKER STATUS: Transfer

Chicago Fire FC have acquired Argentinian winger Ignacio Aliseda from Defensa y Justicia for an undisclosed transfer fee, the club announced Wednesday. He will be a Young Designated Player and is under contract through 2023.

Aliseda, 19, predominantly plays as a left winger, though has played across the front line. He already has 35 appearances with Defensa y Justicia across two seasons since breaking into the first team. He has two appearances with Argentina's U-23 national team.

“Ignacio is already such an impressive player despite being only 19-years-old,” head coach Raphael Wicky said in a club statement. “He is very quick and technically gifted and has a great mentality. We’re very excited to add Ignacio to our roster and we expect him to be a key contributor for us moving forward.”

The winger occupies the club's second DP slot, following fellow offseason acquisition Robert Beric. Aliseda joins an attacking group that's headlined by Beric, CJ Sapong, Przemyslaw Frankowski and others.

It's been a transitional offseason in Chicago, complete with a revamp of the roster, coaching staff and sporting department, as well as a change in ownership, stadium and a rebrand.
