TRANSFER TRACKER STATUS: Signing
FC Dallas have signed 2020 MLS SuperDraft first-round selection Nkosi Burgess to a contract, the club announced Tuesday. The defender was selected No. 14 overall.
Burgess, 22, has featured in three preseason games with the club this winter. He was named 2019 WAC Defensive Player of the Year and selected to the United Soccer Coaches All-Region First Team during his lone season with Seattle University last year, after spending three seasons with the University of Connecticut.
Burgess joins a roster already stocked with young talent, including Jesus Ferreira, Paxton Pomykal, Reggie Cannon and others. He adds to a defensive unit anchored by Cannon, Matt Hedges, Reto Ziegler and Ryan Hollingshead.
FC Dallas kick off their 2020 campaign against the Philadelphia Union on February 29.
