MLS Preseason 2020: FC Dallas ride early goal to 1-0 victory over Austin Bold

FC Dallas - Cobra - Preseason

An early goal from Zdenek Ondrasek proved to the difference in a 1-0 preseason victory for FC Dallas over USL Championship side Austin Bold at Toyota Field on Sunday.

The man better known as "Kobra" scored in just the fourth minute, sliding home a cross with a nifty finish for what would ultimately stand as the only goal of the three-period scrimmage.

FCD nearly doubled the advantage three times, first in the 30th minute off a feed from Kobra that set up Santiago Mosquera with a look on goal, but the shot was saved by the Austin goalkeeper.

In the 68th minute, Dante Sealy nearly found the net for FCD after a through ball from Thomas Roberts put him in behind the goalkeeper, but a defender managed to track back and block Sealy's shot at the open net.

The home side's final big chance of the match came on an 84th-minute free kick from Ema Twumasi, who just missed what would have been a gorgeous curling golazo.

The result moves FC Dallas to 3-2-0 through five preseason matches. The club will take the field for its next exhibition match on Wednesday at Toyota Field against another USL outfit in San Antonio FC.
