Columbus Crew recall Chris Cadden from loan to League One Oxford United

TRANSFER TRACKER STATUS: Returning

Columbus Crew SC have recalled defender/midfielder Chris Cadden from his half-season loan at League One side Oxford United, according to Oxford's club website.

Columbus signed Cadden last summer from Scottish Premier League outfit Motherwell, then loaned him to Oxford for the first half of their season.

Cadden had four assists in 21 appearances for Oxford, who currently sit fourth in the third tier of English football, just five points off the league lead. According to reports, Columbus previously rejected a permanent transfer offer for Cadden, who has a pair of senior international caps for Scotland to his name.

The 23-year-old is one of 10 defenders currently on Columbus' roster, suggesting it's possible Crew GM Tim Bezbatchenko could decide to loan Cadden elsewhere or make a trade.
