TRANSFER TRACKER STATUS: Report
Jacob Myers of the Columbus Dispatch reported on Twitter on Friday that the Crew recently received and rejected a transfer offer from English side Oxford United.
I can confirm #Crew96 did receive and decline an offer from Oxford United for Chris Cadden. Any offer for the Crew to give up Cadden would have had to be significant.— Jacob Myers (@Jacob_Myers_25) December 6, 2019
Cadden, who his on loan with OU and will join the Crew in Jan, has 4 assists in 16 games in League 1 in England.
Cadden, 23, was signed by Columbus during the summer transfer window and loaned out to Oxford United until January. The Scottish wide player has been a hit at the League One side, and speculation in recent weeks in the local press claimed they were eager to retain the player's services.
Cadden was signed by Columbus after coming through the ranks at Scottish Premier League side Motherwell, his hometown club, and spending most of the past six years there, eventually earning two Scotland national team caps in the process.
Columbus open the 2020 MLS regular season campaign on March 1 at home against NYCFC.
