Report: Fiorentina lead pack of European clubs keen on Sporting KC's Gianluca Busio

TRANSFER TRACKER STATUS: Report

Gianluca Busio has steadily grown into a regular contributor to Sporting Kansas City’s first team as well as the US Under-17 national team, and several of Europe’s biggest clubs have taken notice, according to Italian journalist Alfredo Pedulla.

Busio has already been the subject of two transfer bids in the $3-4 million range from Serie A side Fiorentina, Pedulla reported on Monday, with Sporting allegedly having declined both on account of their valuation of the 17-year-old Homegrown midfielder being closer to $10 million.

Fiorentina – who are owned by American business magnate Rocco Commisso – remain interested, the report states, while Inter Milan and Manchester United are also among those tracking the teenager.

Busio, whose father is Italian and thus has access to the European Union passport that would ease his passage to the old continent, scored three goals and an assist in 22 MLS appearances (10 starts) in 2019 and has 4g/2a in 29 career league matches to date.
