Welcome back: Thierry Henry's best moments in MLS

Thierry Henry - New York Red Bulls

He's back.

Thierry Henry has been appointed as the next head coach of the Montreal Impact on Thursday, returning to MLS after four-and-a-half memorable years with the New York Red Bulls as a player from 2010-14.

Let's take a trip down memory lane with six (of many) memorable moments from Henry's MLS playing career before he transitions to the touchline.

Olimpico

Henry is the rare combination of great goalscorer + scorer of great goals. He had some worldies in MLS; was this Olimpico his best?

Henrying

But he did more than score and create goals. Henry walked a tightrope between entertainer and competitor in MLS, so it's only perfect that one of his best moments came after scoring a goal.

Henry scored against Toronto FC and, since he's done it once or twice before he wasn't overly excited, and just leaned on the goalpost. Thus Henrying was born.

"The guys showed me some of the pictures," Henry said in the aftermath. "It's kind of funny at the end of the day. I have nothing behind the celebration. It's true. I just needed a rest. I stopped there, I saw the post, I stopped in Houston. I saw the post the other day, I was basically by it, so I stopped right there. Now everybody is doing stuff on internet with it, so I'm happy, pleased, it's funny."

Tekkers

These small moments are some that will be remembered for a long time. This was, simply, a Thierry Henry special.

On yer bike!

Montreal remembers Henry pretty well. He scored this acrobatic golazo against them in

"Boo again! Come on, boo again!"

What. A. Showman.

Leading RBNY to their first trophy

During his successful stint with the Red Bulls, the club won one trophy: The 2013 Supporters' Shield. It was the club's first piece of hardware.

Needing a win to claim the Shield, the Red Bulls went down 1-0 to the Chicago Fire early. Up stepped Henry to set the tone, scoring a delightful half-volley to pull RBNY level. They'd go on to win 5-2.
