MLS Cup has come and gone – Seattle beat Toronto, 3-1, for their second title in four years – and clubs around the league (including expansion sides Inter Miami and Nashville SC) already have the 2020 season on their minds.
The race for 2020 MLS Cup begins on Monday, as a two-day trade window opens at 1 pm ET. The window allows teams to sign and trade players following a 10-week roster freeze. The window will stay open until 8 pm ET on Wednesday. You can check out the entire offseason calendar here.
Seventeen trades were completed during this window last season, so we should expect plenty of fireworks over the next couple of days. Here are a few notable moves from this window ahead of the 2019 campaign:
- Tesho Akindele from FC Dallas to Orlando City for $150,000 in total allocation money
- Greg Garza from Atlanta United to FC Cincinnati for $450,000 in total allocation money
- Maxime Crepeau from Montreal Impact to Vancouver Whitecaps for $50,000 in Targeted Allocation Money and a third-round pick in 2020 SuperDraft
What else will come about? We'll be sure to keep you posted as news surfaces.
