Altidore suffered quad injury in TFC's Decision Day presented by AT&T match against Columbus Crew SC while Gonzalez failed a fitness test prior to the match due to a hamstring injury. Gonzalez was not named on the Reds' injury report entering the match.

In Gonzalez's 14 starts, TFC conceded 1.1 goals per game and averaged 1.9 points per games. In the 20 games he did not, Toronto conceded 1.8 goals per game and averaged just 1.2 points per game.
