TRANSFER TRACKER STATUS: Report

Vancouver Whitecaps FC are looking to continue their rebuilding project, and could turn to a recent Concacaf Gold Cup veteran as their next addition.

Honduran outlet Diez reported on Friday that winger Michaell Chirinos was saying goodbye to his teammates at Olimpia, in anticipation of a move to an MLS team, subsequently reported to be the Whitecaps. The 24-year-old has played for two clubs to date in his career — Olimpia, where he made his debut in 2014 and won the Concacaf League in 2017, and Mexican side Lobos BUAP, where he was on loan in 2018-19.

A Honduras international, Chirinos has 19 caps at senior level, winning the Copa Centroamericana in 2017 and playing in the 2019 Gold Cup. With Lucas Venuto departing the Whitecaps on Thursday, Vancouver have an international roster slot presumably open at this stage.
