When Nashville SC joins MLS as an expansion team in 2020, a two-time Europa League winner and two-time Champions League runner-up could be in the fold.

Atletico right back Juanfran is linked with the club from the Music City, according to an ESPN report from Spanish correspondent Moises Llorens. The Spaniard, 34, will see his contract expire at the end of June and reportedly also has interest from Brazilian teams Corinthians and Sao Paulo.

"Our technical staff is in the process of building a full roster and therefore is evaluating talent who fits our team culture and dynamic," said a Nashville spokesperson.

Juanfran, who has 22 caps with Spain, joined Atleti ahead of the 2011 season from CA Osasuna. He grew up in the Real Madrid youth system and has blossomed into one of La Ligaā€™s steadiest defenders, totaling 428 appearances in the league, including 355 with Atleti. Heā€™s also scored 43 career league goals, showing a penchant for joining the attack.

Should Juanfran head to Nashville, heā€™d turn 35 before they play an MLS, since his birthday is in January.

Ahead of their inaugural MLS season, Nashville SC has made some noise as of late, securing the services of David Accam and Derrick Jones ā€“ both of whom are one-time Philadelphia Union players.
