DeAndre Yedlin ended his season for Newcastle sidelined following groin surgery. | Reuters

DeAndre Yedlin
SEA: 2013-14
The Newcastle right back is recovering from groin surgery that ended both his EPL season and his place on the US Gold Cup roster. Yedlin started 28 of his 29 league matches this past season, but lost the starting job in April. His chances of winning it back may soon take a hit, as Portuguese outlet Record is reporting that the Magpies are in for highly-rated Benfica veteran Andre Almeida.
Tim Ream
RBNY: 2010-11
The 31-year-old defender made 26 EPL appearances and another three in cup play for now-relegated Fulham. Ream is set to begin the last year on his Cottagers deal, and will miss the early July start of preseason camp due to his Gold Cup involvement.
Emerson Hyndman
FC Dallas Academy
As he enters the final year of his Bournemouth pact, the young midfielder's status with the EPL club remains unclear. Hyndman has made but one league appearance in each of the last two seasons, but fared much better on loan stints with Scottish Premiership clubs Rangers and Hibernian.
Geoff Cameron
HOU: 2008-12
Following a season that saw him make 19 Championship appearances on loan to Queens Park Rangers, the veteran defensive handyman is due to return to Stoke City for the June 26 start of preseason prep. The local Sentinel recently claimed that Cameron was in talks with incoming MLS expansion side Nashville SC, but the 33-year-old quickly squashed that rumor on Twitter.
Matt Miazga
RBNY: 2013-15
While Reading and its supporters are openly hoping to bring the US defender back for another year on loan, it remains to be seen where he'll play next season. Parent club Chelsea are reportedly set to hire Blues legend Frank Lampard — who suffered a 2-0 MLS defeat playing against Miazga when he was with the Red Bulls back in 2015 — as their new manager.
Erik Palmer-Brown
SKC: 2009-17
After making 18 Eredivisie appearances on loan to now-relegated NAC Breda, the US defender is back with Manchester City. This summer's stay with the EPL champs could be short. The youngster should be headed back out on loan before long, with Italian buzz claiming it could be with Serie A champs and former suitors Juventus.
Matthew Olosunde
RBNY Academy
After returning from a long knee injury lay-off to make three starts in five appearances for Manchester United's second team this spring, the 21-year-old right back is being allowed to run out of contract by the Red Devils. According to ESPN FC, Olosunde is aiming to continue his career in Europe.

Weston McKennie finished the season strong Schalke after returning from from an ankle injury | Reuters

Weston McKennie
FC Dallas Academy
Before heading off for Gold Cup duty with the USMNT, McKennie ably filled in at center back as Schalke sent Stuttgart on to the relegation playoff (which they went on to lose) with a 0-0 Bundesliga closing-day draw. The 20-year-old incredibly played seven different positions during the campaign, which saw him make an impressive Champions League debut in both the group stage and knockout rounds. All told, McKennie logged two goals, six assists and 45 tackles in 33 games across all competitions.
Tyler Adams
RBNY: 2016-18
The RB Leipzig midfielder returned from an abductor injury to work 64 minutes in their Bundesliga season-capping 2-1 loss at Werder Bremen. A week later, he went 65 minutes in their 3-0 DfB-Pokal final defeat to Bayern Munich. Despite those losses, Leipzig clinched a Champions League group stage invite by virtue of their third-place league finish. Though forced to withdraw from the USMNT’s Gold Cup squad due to an injury flare-up, Adams is expected to be fit for the start of the club's preseason preparations. They will open their friendly slate against FC Zürich on July 12, and try to begin a new DfB-Pokal run at Osnabrück on August 9.
Alphonso Davies
VAN: 2016-18
The Canada starlet was on the bench when Bayern Munich clinched their seventh straight Bundesliga title with a 5-1 rout of Eintracht Frankfurt on May 18, but was off with the second team when the Bavarians made it a domestic double with a 3-0 DfB-Pokal win over RB Leipzig the following weekend. Davies played every minute as Bayern II overcame a 3-1 away leg defeat and leaking the opener in the home return to secure promotion to the 3. Liga with a 4-1 victory over Wolfsburg II. Early in the second half of the decider, the winger made the outstanding pass before the pass on Kwasi Wriedt's tying goal. With veteran flank stars Franck Ribery and Arjen Robben likely moving on this summer, there should be much more playing time available to Davies next season.
Haji Wright
LA Galaxy Academy
The Schalke strike prospect made good strides this season, netting once in seven Bundesliga games while also chalking up 14 goals and five assists in 22 second-team outings. Wright should again split time between the Miners and their reserve side, which won promotion to the Regionalliga.
Sebastian Soto
Real Salt Lake Academy
The Hannover 96 forward banged in 17 goals for the club's Under-19 side this past season, a run of form that earned him a trio of Bundesliga appearances during the spring. Soto still has a year left on his Die Roten contract, but widespread reports have him firmly in the transfer sights of Borussia Dortmund, PSV Eindhoven and unnamed French clubs.
Chris Gloster
RBNY Academy
The Hannover 96 II left back put up three assists in 16 Regionalliga Nord matches this season. With the first team relegated to the 2. Bundesliga, one would think Gloster will get the chance to break through for playing time during the forthcoming campaign. However, Bild claims that, like Soto, the US Under-20 international is currently being chased by PSV Eindhoven.
Khiry Shelton
NYC: 2015-17
SKC: 2018
Injuries limited the winter Paderborn catch to two sub appearances for the first team, but he added two goals and an assist in five games for the second team. Thanks to their second-place finish in the second flight, the North Rhine side will be back in the Bundesliga after four years away.
Kianz Froese
VAN: 2014-17
The Fortuna Düsseldorf II attacking midfielder notched six goals and three assists in 22 Regionalliga West outings this season. Despite his production, it appears as though the club will allow Froese to depart when his contract expires at the end of June. The Canada international is currently on trial with FC Magdeburg, who were relegated to the 3. Liga last month.
Chris Richards
FC Dallas Academy
After starting 27 of 29 games across all competitions in his debut season for Bayern Munich's Under-19 team, the center back has officially been bumped up to the Bundesliga giants' second team. Bayern II, who earned promotion to the 3. Liga last month, will start their preseason friendly schedule against Dachau on Friday.
Taylor Booth
Real Salt Lake Academy
The winter Bayern Munich signing finished the season with a goal in seven games for their Under-19 side. Though he will almost certainly be back with that team this coming season, the 18-year-old did begin preseason training with the Bayern II group.
Alex Mendez
Chivas USA Academy
LA Galaxy Academy
The Freiburg Under-19 playmaker ended the season with three goals and an assist in 12 games for the sixth place side. At this time, it appears as though he'll remain at this age level to start the new campaign.
Michael Edwards
D.C. United Academy
Fresh from helping the Wolfsburg Under-19's win their league crown, the defender worked every minute of a tough luck national A-Junior Bundesliga championship playoff semifinal against Stuttgart that ended in a penalty-kick defeat. Ahead of next season, Edwards has now been moved up to the reserve team.
Ulysses Llanez
LA Galaxy Academy
The US Under-20 flank ace will be eligible to play for new employers Wolfsburg when the new season begins, but is expected to start out with the second team. Wolfsburg II will open their preseason friendly slate against Viktoria Berlin on Sunday.

Mexico

Omar Gonzalez
LA Galaxy: 2009-15
Prior to starting his fourth straight Gold Cup odyssey, the US defender left Atlas to join Toronto FC.
Rogelio Funes Mori
FC Dallas Academy
The Monterrey forward netted 20 goals in 43 appearances across all competitions this term, and helped the club claim their fourth Concacaf Champions League title. That level of excellence has attracted the interest of Palmeiras manager Luiz Felipe Scolari, who is reportedly at work trying to negotiate a transfer deal for Funes Mori.
Rafael Baca
SJ: 2011-14
The veteran defensive midfielder started in 33 of his 39 appearances over the 2018/19 campaign, which included helping Cruz Azul reach the Apertura Liguilla final and claim the Copa MX crown. Nevertheless, his lineup place is no longer a sure thing and the club have made it known they're looking for reinforcements at his position. Though it's not certain that Baca is on the outs, Mexican reports have Los Cementeros willing to listen to transfer offers.
Tony Alfaro
SEA: 2016-18
Following a Clausura campaign that saw Alfaro limited to three appearances, and just one in league play, the defender will be sent on loan to Atletico Zacatepec. Starting on July 1, he'll spend a year with the second-flight battlers.
Lalo Fernandez
RSL: 2012-17
Despite making just one appearance in 2018 (backstopping a shutout draw against Copa MX group-stage foe Cafetaleros last August), the Tigres back-up netminder celebrated a Clausura championship following a 1-0 aggregate win over Leon late last month.

Spain

Ballou Tabla
Montreal Impact Academy
The Canada wing prodigy made just his second appearance for loan side Albacete with a 25-minute shift in their La Liga 2 closing day loss at Almeria, but was not in the squad for either leg of their promotion semifinal tie defeat against Mallorca. Word around FC Barcelona is that he's expected to be back with the Spanish giants' second team next season.

France

Timothy Weah
RBNY Academy
Despite a contentious exit from Celtic, the US attacker still officially became the third American (following Claudio Reyna and DaMarcus Beasley) to win the Premiership-Scottish Cup double in a single season. Combining his time with the Hoops and parent club Paris Saint-Germain, Weah ended the campaign with six goals in just 665 minutes spread across 20 competitive matches. While numerous outlets in France have the speedster set for a summer transfer to Ligue 1 runners-up Lille, Le 10 Sport reported this week that PSG were not swayed by the opening bid. On Saturday, Weah was the lone American nominated by Italian outlet Tuttosport for the 2019 Golden Boy award.

Netherlands

Richie Ledezma
Real Salt Lake Academy
After bagging a goal in four appearances for PSV Eindhoven's Under-19 team last term, Ledezma is slated to start the new season with the Eredivisie runners-up's reserve side in the second flight.

Belgium

Andy Najar
DC: 2010-12
The Anderlecht man just can't seem to stay healthy. Following a season that saw him manage 30 appearances across all competitions despite a few injury layoffs, Najar left for Gold Cup duty with Honduras. He didn't even make it to their opening game, suffering a meniscus setback in their tune-up against Paraguay that will likely require surgery and a considerable recovery period.

Turkey

Cyle Larin
ORL: 2015-17
The Canada striker got his first league start for Besiktas since the season opener in their 3-2 closing-day win over Kasimpasa. Larin ended a rough season with four goals in 22 total contests, and could well now be on the move. Turkish reports claim that he has agreed to go on loan despite wishing to fight for a place with the Black Eagles. He purportedly has interest from clubs in Belgium and the Netherlands.
Eric Ayuk
PHI: 2015-16
The Osmanlispor winger is in for a long summer of "What if?" after suffering heartbreak in the second-flight promotion playoffs. Following the club's 2-0 opening-leg defeat at semifinal foe Gazisehir, Ayuk did well taking up the unfamiliar position of right back to help the Ottomans rally to run the tie to penalties. Sadly, he was eventually the shootout goat after having his try saved to hand the visitors a 10-9 victory. Ayuk finished the season with five goals and an assist in 31 outings across all competitions.

Canada

Ryan Telfer
TOR: 2018
It has been quite a month for the York9 FC loan winger. A day after our last update, he stabbed home the late 1-0 winner in the opening leg of their Canadian Championship first round duel with Blainville, and it would end up as the only goal scored in the tie. Telfer then went the full route in draws against Pacific FC and HFX Wanderers wrapped around a home loss to Forge FC. He set up the opener in a 3-1 home leg victory that opened their CanChamp second-round battle with FC Edmonton on June 6. Just two days later, the attacker was summoned back to Toronto FC on an emergency recall, and needed just three minutes off the bench to tee up the stoppage-time leveler in a 2-2 draw against Sporting KC. Last Friday, Telfer was back with York9 FC for a 1-0 loss at FC Edmonton that was good enough to secure a CanChamp third-round date with the Montreal Impact.
Emery Welshman
Portland Timbers Academy
TOR: 2013
The FC Cincinnati loan item slid wide to start at left wing for Forge FC's late May victories over York9 FC and FC Edmonton. Before leaving to join Guyana for pre-Gold Cup camp, Welshman broke the ice on their Canadian Championship second-round tie against Cavalry FC. Unfortunately for the Hammers, they conceded a stoppage-time equalizer to settle for a draw and then lost the second leg on the road without their top front-line weapon.
Kyle Bekker
TOR: 2013-14
DAL: 2015
MTL: 2015-16
The start of Forge FC's ongoing four-game win streak in league play coincided with Bekker's return from suspension. The Hammers skipper set up both goals in their 2-0 win at York9 FC on May 25, and then rose to the top of the league assist chart with the helper on their 84th-minute equalizer in this weekend's late comeback win over Valour FC. In Canadian Championship second-round play, Bekker bagged his first goal of the campaign to temporarily give the visitors an aggregate lead early in the deciding leg of a tie they'd eventually lose to Cavalry FC.
Kwame Awuah
NYC: 2017-18
After going the distance in Forge FC's first four league games, Awuah came off the pine for matching 2-0 wins over Valour FC and York9 FC before returning to the lineup to work left back in the identical victory over FC Edmonton that closed May. The youngster only got on the pitch for the final minute of the home opener in their CanChamp tie with Cavalry, then started on the left side of midfield for the dooming 2-1 loss in the away return. He was back on the left side of defense for Saturday's 2-1 defeat of Valour FC.
David Choinière
MTL: 2016-18
The winger sat out two of Forge FC's three late May wins, making a brief sub appearance in the victory at York9 FC sandwiched in between. In early June, Choinière got the start and set up the lone goal in each leg of their slim Canadian Championship second-round ouster at the hands of Cavalry FC. He kept that lineup place for this past weekend's win over Valour FC.
Marco Bustos
VAN: 2014-17
The Canada attacker has quickly become an ink starter for Valour FC. After going the distance in a 1-0 league win over Edmonton on June 2, Bustos opened his club account four days later with the lone goal in a 2-1 first -eg loss against CanChamp second-round foe HFX Wanderers. After they were bounced with another loss in the home leg, the youngster moved up top to fire home an early stunner for his first CPL goal in a 2-1 defeat at Forge FC.
Louis Beland-Goyette
MTL: 2014, 2017-18
The midfielder started both legs as Valour FC bowed out of the Canadian Championship with successive losses to HFX Wanderers on June 6 and 13. Béland-Goyette continued his run of playing every minute of league action on Saturday, setting up their lone strike in a 2-1 defeat at Forge FC.
Amer Didic
SKC: 2016-18
After missing three games (all losses) with an injury, the FC Edmonton defender returned last Thursday to help close out the final 24 minutes of a 1-0 CanChamp deciding-leg victory that wasn't enough to see them on to the third round. Two days later, Didic was back in the lineup for a 3-0 loss to CPL leaders Cavalry FC.
Matthew Baldisimo
Vancouver Whitecaps Academy
The Pacific FC defensive midfielder saw his string of consecutive starts snapped in their May 23 loss at Cavalry, which saw him pick up a caution late in his 17-minute sub shift. Baldisimo was back in the lineup as the struggling side's June slate started with a loss at HFX Wanderers. He held that place in Saturday's defeat at York9 FC, which saw him draw his third yellow card of the season.
Blake Smith
MTL: 2013-14
CIN: 2019
The Pacific FC left back regained his starting place for their May 18 draw against York9 FC, their 2-1 loss at Cavalry and a 2-1 loss to HFX Wanderers on June 1. However, he then came off the bench for the final seven minutes of this past weekend's 1-0 defeat at York9 FC.

South Korea

Sebastian Velasquez
RSL: 2012-14
NYC: 2015
The veteran attacker is a free agent after leaving Suwon FC last Friday. Velasquez stated on Twitter that he was on his way back to the States and looking for a new club. He played his last two matches for the K League 2 title contenders in late May victories over Ansan Greeners and Daejeon Citizen. In all, he scored once in nine total contests for the club.

China

Anatole Abang
RBNY: 2015-16
The Cameroon forward's goal roll has finally slowed. Abang came up empty in Nantong Zhiyun's final three May matches. However, they did win two of those games and Saturday's 0-0 draw with Zhejiang Greentown was enough to lift them out of the second-flight bottom three.

Costa Rica

Denis Castillo
COL: 2016
Recent reports out of Costa Rica suggest that the defender could be set to leave Perez Zeledon. Castillo accounted for four goals in 35 total appearances spanning the Apertura and Clausura campaigns, and donned the captain's armband three times.

Israel

Aaron Schoenfeld
CLB: 2012-15
The Maccabi Tel Aviv striker missed the final six games of the champs' near-perfect season with a foot injury, finishing with three goals and two assists in 23 matches across all competitions. Schoenfeld and friends will learn their potential Champions League second qualifying round opponents on Wednesday.
Jonathan Bornstein
CHV: 2006-11
A couple days after the last update, Bornstein went all 120 minutes as Maccabi Netanya suffered an agonizing 6-5 shootout defeat to Bnei Yehuda in the State Cup final. He also worked whistle to whistle in their final two league championship round games, both losses, as the Diamonds finished fourth. Having completed a solid campaign that saw him notch a goal and two helpers in 31 total appearances, it now looks likely that the veteran left back will have his contract option picked up.
George Fochive
POR: 2014-15
The Hapoel Hadera midfielder closed the campaign with two goals and an assist in 19 games across all competitions. With a year remaining on his contract, Fochive will be back when the club kick off the new Ligat Ha'al season with an August 24 visit to Ashdod.

Norway

Sam Adekugbe
VAN: 2013-17
The Valerenga left back returned after five games on the shelf with a knee injury by working the final 16 minutes of Sunday's 3-0 defeat at Rosenborg. It was the Bohemians' second loss in a row, dipping them down to seventh place.
Oyvind Alseth
TOR: 2017
The local boy has quickly reestablished himself as Ranheim's starting right back. Though he sat out their second-round NM Cup win at mites Nardo on May 22, Alseth went the distance in the loss at Odds BK and win at Sarpsborg 08 that directly preceded it. Following the international break, he worked 84 minutes in Sunday's 2-0 loss at leaders Molde that dropped the club down to 10th place.

Scotland

Matt Polster
CHI: 2015-18
The US right back did not dress for runners-up Rangers' final game of the season, a 2-1 loss at Kilmarnock. However, there may be a lineup spot opening up before the Light Blues begin their Europa League first qualifying round tie (against a foe to be drawn on Wednesday) on July 11. Starter James Tavernier is reportedly set for the exit door, with clubs in England, Italy and Spain lining up to bid for his services.
Ian Harkes
DC: 2017-18
The young midfielder played every minute for Dundee United's four promotion playoff matches as the club narrowly missed out on a return to the Premiership. Harkes & Co. swept their tie with Inverness to set up a final duel with St. Mirren. After a home draw in the opening leg, they went to extra time and then spot kicks in the deciding away contest. Unfortunately, the Tangerines missed their first three penalty tries and were bested 3-1 in the shootout.
Ian McGrath
Chicago Fire Academy
A couple of days after our last check-in, the Queen of the South midfielder made a late cameo in a 3-1 win away to Championship survival playoff foe Raith Rovers. McGrath then watched from the bench as the hosts locked down their place in the second division with a 0-0 home leg draw three days later.

Sweden

Romain Gall
CLB: 2014-15
After a breakout season in 2018, Gall is still struggling for pitch time with league leaders Malmo this season. The winger entered at halftime of a scoreless draw at IFK Göteborg on May 16. He remained on the bench for their ensuing win over Kalmar before working the final 14 minutes of a 5-0 rout of Eskilstuna the following week. Gall was back in the dugout as the Sky Blues started June by moving six points clear at the top with a 1-0 victory at Helsingborg.
Ben McKendry
VAN: 2016-17
The defensive midfielder ran his streak of 90-minute outings to eight in a 2-2 draw at Linkoping City on May 19, but was forced off with a dislocated shoulder after just 16 minutes of a 3-0 defeat at Umea the following weekend. McKendry has now missed four straight losses, as the team slid into the drop zone.
Ian Garrett
Chicago Fire Academy
The young attacker appeared in Nykoping's last three May matches, getting the start in the May 26 loss at title chasers Umea. Garrett then stayed in the dugout for their first three June contests, all losses.

Denmark

Collen Warner
RSL: 2010-11
MTL: 2012-14
TOR: 2014-15
HOU: 2016
MIN: 2017-18
The veteran midfielder scored his first goal for second-flight Helsingor in a double-rally 3-3 share at Nykobing on May 18. Warner then was sent off for a second yellow card in the 90th minute of a closing day 2-1 loss to guests Lyngby that sealed the team's relegation from the second flight. His contract runs out at the end of June, and at this time it's unclear if he'll be back.

Finland

Luis Silva
TOR: 2012-13
DC: 2013-15
RSL: 2015-18
The Honka attacker returned from injury with a 32-minute shift in their May 18 win at Seinajoki. Silva opened his Finnish top-flight account nine days later with the early winner in a 2-0 victory over Lahti and then went the distance in a home loss to Kokkolan.
Tim Murray
NE: 2010-12
The Honka netminder backstopped consecutive wins over Seinajoki and Lahti to close May, notching his second clean sheet of the season in the latter contest. The club's four-game unbeaten run ended with a tough 1-0 defeat against Kokkolan on June 2, but they remain just three points off the Veikkausliiga lead with two games in hand on first-place Inter Turku heading into Wednesday's trip to face defending champs HJK.
Jonas Hakkinen
Vancouver Whitecaps Academy
The young defensive handyman, who joined VPS prior to the season, has been a lineup mainstay. After spending most of the first couple months occupying the midfield stopper role (including in their Suomen Cup semifinal loss to IFK Mariehamn on May 16), Hakkinen has shifted to center back for the last four league games. Despite allowing just six goals in those matches, the "Vepsi" dropped all of them to remain the last winless team in the top flight through 11 rounds.

Albania

Dilly Duka
CLB: 2010-12, 2016-17
CHI: 2013-14
MTL: 2014-15
RBNY: 2017
As Duka and Partizani Tirana had already clinched the league crown, his playing time was somewhat limited over the final three games of the season. The midfielder came off near the hour mark of a loss at Teuta on May 18 and went the distance in a 1-all home draw with Kukesi the following weekend before sitting out their schedule-capping draw at Luftetari. On Tuesday, the Red Demas were drawn to face Azerbaijani kings Qarabag in the first qualifying round of the Champions League.

Guatemala

Nicolas Samayoa
NE: 2018
The defender and his Comunicaciones teammates are currently enjoying their offseason, but did learn their Concacaf League preliminary round draw at the end of May. The Whites will tackle Honduran side Marathon, with the opening leg at home on August 1.

Thailand

Chris Cortez
CHV: 2011
The striker scored his second goal for loan employers Ayutthaya United a few days after our last update, converting from a corner-kick scramble to provide the 1-0 winner at Air Force Central. Cortez came close to a brace when he rattled the post from nearly 30 yards. The team then dropped three straight to stand just one point above the second-flight trap door at the end of May. His loan spell is set to end on June 30, but the Californian recently revealed that he could be on the move from parent club Chonburi with potential options brewing in USL, the Middle East and South Korea.
