His chances of winning it back may soon take a hit, as Portuguese outlet <em>Record</em> is reporting that the Magpies are in for highly-rated Benfica veteran Andre Almeida. |

After making 18 Eredivisie appearances on loan to now-relegated NAC Breda, the US defender is back with Manchester City. This summer's stay with the EPL champs could be short. The youngster should be headed back out on loan before long, with Italian buzz claiming it could be with Serie A champs and former suitors Juventus. |

Before heading off for Gold Cup duty with the USMNT, McKennie ably filled in at center back as Schalke sent Stuttgart on to the relegation playoff (which they went on to lose) with a 0-0 Bundesliga closing-day draw. The 20-year-old incredibly played seven different positions during the campaign, which saw him make an impressive Champions League debut in both the group stage and knockout rounds. All told, McKennie logged two goals, six assists and 45 tackles in 33 games across all competitions. |
<strong>Tyler Adams</strong><br>

The RB Leipzig midfielder returned from an abductor injury to work 64 minutes in their Bundesliga season-capping 2-1 loss at Werder Bremen. A week later, he went 65 minutes in their 3-0 DfB-Pokal final defeat to Bayern Munich. Despite those losses, Leipzig clinched a Champions League group stage invite by virtue of their third-place league finish. Though forced to withdraw from the USMNT’s Gold Cup squad due to an injury flare-up, Adams is expected to be fit for the start of the club's preseason preparations. They will open their friendly slate against FC Zürich on July 12, and try to begin a new DfB-Pokal run at Osnabrück on August 9. |

The Canada starlet was on the bench when Bayern Munich clinched their seventh straight Bundesliga title with a 5-1 rout of Eintracht Frankfurt on May 18, but was off with the second team when the Bavarians made it a domestic double with a 3-0 DfB-Pokal win over RB Leipzig the following weekend. Davies played every minute as Bayern II overcame a 3-1 away leg defeat and leaking the opener in the home return to secure promotion to the 3. Liga with a 4-1 victory over Wolfsburg II. Early in the second half of the decider, the winger made the outstanding pass before the pass on Kwasi Wriedt's tying goal. With veteran flank stars Franck Ribery and Arjen Robben likely moving on this summer, there should be much more playing time available to Davies next season. |

The Schalke strike prospect made good strides this season, netting once in seven Bundesliga games while also chalking up 14 goals and five assists in 22 second-team outings. Wright should again split time between the Miners and their reserve side, which won promotion to the Regionalliga. |

The Hannover 96 forward banged in 17 goals for the club's Under-19 side this past season, a run of form that earned him a trio of Bundesliga appearances during the spring. Soto still has a year left on his <em>Die Roten</em> contract, but widespread reports have him firmly in the transfer sights of Borussia Dortmund, PSV Eindhoven and unnamed French clubs. |

Combining his time with the Hoops and parent club Paris Saint-Germain, Weah ended the campaign with six goals in just 665 minutes spread across 20 competitive matches. While numerous outlets in France have the speedster set for a summer transfer to Ligue 1 runners-up Lille, Le 10 Sport reported this week that PSG were not swayed by the opening bid. On Saturday, Weah was the lone American nominated by Italian outlet Tuttosport for the 2019 Golden Boy award. |

Turkey
<strong>Cyle Larin</strong><br>

The Canada striker got his first league start for Besiktas since the season opener in their 3-2 closing-day win over Kasimpasa. Larin ended a rough season with four goals in 22 total contests, and could well now be on the move. Turkish reports claim that he has agreed to go on loan despite wishing to fight for a place with the Black Eagles. He purportedly has interest from clubs in Belgium and the Netherlands. |
<strong>Eric Ayuk</strong><br>

The Osmanlispor winger is in for a long summer of "What if?" after suffering heartbreak in the second-flight promotion playoffs. Following the club's 2-0 opening-leg defeat at semifinal foe Gazisehir, Ayuk did well taking up the unfamiliar position of right back to help the Ottomans rally to run the tie to penalties. Sadly, he was eventually the shootout goat after having his try saved to hand the visitors a 10-9 victory. Ayuk finished the season with five goals and an assist in 31 outings across all competitions. |

<strong>Ryan Telfer</strong><br>

It has been quite a month for the York9 FC loan winger. A day after our last update, he stabbed home the late 1-0 winner in the opening leg of their Canadian Championship first round duel with Blainville, and it would end up as the only goal scored in the tie. Telfer then went the full route in draws against Pacific FC and HFX Wanderers wrapped around a home loss to Forge FC. He set up the opener in a 3-1 home leg victory that opened their CanChamp second-round battle with FC Edmonton on June 6. Just two days later, the attacker was summoned back to Toronto FC on an emergency recall, and needed just three minutes off the bench to tee up the stoppage-time leveler in a 2-2 draw against Sporting KC. Last Friday, Telfer was back with York9 FC for a 1-0 loss at FC Edmonton that was good enough to secure a CanChamp third-round date with the Montreal Impact. |

In Canadian Championship second-round play, Bekker bagged his first goal of the campaign to temporarily give the visitors an aggregate lead early in the deciding leg of a tie they'd eventually lose to Cavalry FC. |

After going the distance in Forge FC's first four league games, Awuah came off the pine for matching 2-0 wins over Valour FC and York9 FC before returning to the lineup to work left back in the identical victory over FC Edmonton that closed May. The Maccabi Tel Aviv striker missed the final six games of the champs' near-perfect season with a foot injury, finishing with three goals and two assists in 23 matches across all competitions. Schoenfeld and friends will learn their potential Champions League second qualifying round opponents on Wednesday. |
<strong>Jonathan Bornstein</strong><br>

A couple days after the last update, Bornstein went all 120 minutes as Maccabi Netanya suffered an agonizing 6-5 shootout defeat to Bnei Yehuda in the State Cup final. He also worked whistle to whistle in their final two league championship round games, both losses, as the Diamonds finished fourth. Having completed a solid campaign that saw him notch a goal and two helpers in 31 total appearances, it now looks likely that the veteran left back will have his contract option picked up. |

The Hapoel Hadera midfielder closed the campaign with two goals and an assist in 19 games across all competitions. With a year remaining on his contract, Fochive will be back when the club kick off the new Ligat Ha'al season with an August 24 visit to Ashdod. |

The local boy has quickly reestablished himself as Ranheim's starting right back. Though he sat out their second-round NM Cup win at mites Nardo on May 22, Alseth went the distance in the loss at Odds BK and win at Sarpsborg 08 that directly preceded it. Following the international break, he worked 84 minutes in Sunday's 2-0 loss at leaders Molde that dropped the club down to 10th place. |
Scotland

The US right back did not dress for runners-up Rangers' final game of the season, a 2-1 loss at Kilmarnock. However, there may be a lineup spot opening up before the Light Blues begin their Europa League first qualifying round tie (against a foe to be drawn on Wednesday) on July 11. Starter James Tavernier is reportedly set for the exit door, with clubs in England, Italy and Spain lining up to bid for his services. |
<strong>Ian Harkes</strong><br>

The young midfielder played every minute for Dundee United's four promotion playoff matches as the club narrowly missed out on a return to the Premiership. Harkes & Co. swept their tie with Inverness to set up a final duel with St. Mirren. After a home draw in the opening leg, they went to extra time and then spot kicks in the deciding away contest. Unfortunately, the Tangerines missed their first three penalty tries and were bested 3-1 in the shootout. |

A couple of days after our last check-in, the Queen of the South midfielder made a late cameo in a 3-1 win away to Championship survival playoff foe Raith Rovers. McGrath then watched from the bench as the hosts locked down their place in the second division with a 0-0 home leg draw three days later. |

<strong>Romain Gall</strong><br>

After a breakout season in 2018, Gall is still struggling for pitch time with league leaders Malmo this season. The winger entered at halftime of a scoreless draw at IFK Göteborg on May 16. He remained on the bench for their ensuing win over Kalmar before working the final 14 minutes of a 5-0 rout of Eskilstuna the following week. Gall was back in the dugout as the Sky Blues started June by moving six points clear at the top with a 1-0 victory at Helsingborg. |

Despite allowing just six goals in those matches, the "Vepsi" dropped all of them to remain the last winless team in the top flight through 11 rounds. |

The striker scored his second goal for loan employers Ayutthaya United a few days after our last update, converting from a corner-kick scramble to provide the 1-0 winner at Air Force Central. Cortez came close to a brace when he rattled the post from nearly 30 yards. The team then dropped three straight to stand just one point above the second-flight trap door at the end of May. His loan spell is set to end on June 30, but the Californian recently revealed that he could be on the move from parent club Chonburi with potential options brewing in USL, the Middle East and South Korea. |
