New England Revolution 0, Minnesota United 1 | 2019 MLS Preseason Recap

Miguel Ibarra chases down ball vs. New England in preseason

If preseason results are any indication of how the regular season pans out, there might be a lot of Oasis blaring after the final whistle when Minnesota United FC play this year.

The Loons remained undefeated in 2019 MLS Preseason presented by Advocare, defeating the New England Revolution, 1-0, in the opening match of the Orlando City Invitational Saturday at Orlando City Stadium.

Miguel Ibarra scored the gameā€™s lone goal in the 65th minute, capitalizing on a Revs defensive miscue.

That goal came after Homegrown Justin Rennicks, who scored in a 3-1 loss to Louisville City FC Wednesday night, nearly put New England in front, but his attempt was parried away.

There was a nice touch by the folks at Orlando City SC to play "Wonderwall" after the Loons victory.

Both teams continue their preseason on the second night of the Orlando City Invitational Wednesday, with Minnesota meeting New York City FC at 4:30 p.m. and the Lions hosting New England at 7:30 p.m.
