Terrence Boyd - Red Bull Leipzig - Celebrates

TRANSFER TRACKER STATUS: Report

Already with one US international striker on the roster in Jozy Altidore, Toronto FC have reportedly acquired another US international striker.

According to Steven Goff of Washington Post, Toronto have finalized the transfer of Terrence Boyd from Darmstadt. Additionally, TSN's Kristian Jack adds that Boyd is not a replacement for Sebastian Giovinco as the club are close to acquiring a Designated Player forward.

Boyd, 27, has spent his career to date in Germany and Austria, including stints in the ranks at Hertha Berlin, Borussia Dortmund and RB Leipzig. He's found the most success in Austria with Rapid Wien and German second-division club Darmstadt, where he's been since 2017.

With Darmstadt, Boyd has scored five goals in 44 appearances while dealing with injuries over the years, including a torn ACL. He enjoyed his most successful spell with Rapid Vienna, where he had 37 goals and 11 assists in 80 appearances.

Boyd has 14 caps (1 start) for the US national team, though has played just a total of three minutes across two appearances since 2013.
