Atlanta officially list Almiron as 'week-to-week' with hamstring injury

Atlanta United have deemed Miguel Almiron "week-to-week" with a left hamstring injury and confirmed he will miss out on joining up with the Paraguayan national team to rehab his ailment.

Almiron limped off the field in the first half of his team's 2-1 win over the New England Revolution last weekend and head coach Tata Martino forecasted that the star would likely miss Atlanta's final two regular-season games.

ATL will continue their charge for the Supporters' Shield and Toronto FC's MLS regular-season record 69 points without Almiron, and hope to have him back for the playoffs.

Almiron, 24, has scored 12 goals and a joint team-high 14 assists across 31 games in 2018. Atlanta will be back in action against the Chicago Fire on October 21, closing out their campaign with a trip to Toronto on October 28. The Five Stripes have clinched a top-two finish in the Eastern Conference, and their first game in the Audi 2018 MLS Cup Playoffs will come November 4, following a Knockout Round bye.
