While its unclear whether David Villa, the first player signed in New York City FC history, will rejoin the club in 2019, NYCFC announced on Thursday that Chris ‘didychrislito’ Holly, its first esports player, has re-signed with the Cityzens.

The Haitian-born New Yorker will represent NYCFC through the FIFA 19 season, which kicks off  with the release of the new EA SPORTS title Friday.

“I’m really happy to be renewing my contact with NYCFC. This club is where I started my professional FIFA journey, and I want to continue to play and improve here over the next 12 months,” Holly told NYCFC.com. “FIFA 18 didn’t end in the way that I wanted it to, but now that the new game is here, I’m looking forward to getting back on the grind. With the club’s support, I know I can improve my game and challenge for titles in FIFA 19.”

Playing on PS4, Holly won his first tournament representing NYCFC at the FUT Regionals in Vancouver in April 2017. He reached the finals of the FICWC 2017, and went as far as the Global Series Playoffs in FIFA 18, only just missing out on a spot at the FIFA eWorldCup Grand Finals.

Holly enjoyed seven “40-0” Weekend League finishes in FIFA 18, peaking at fourth worldwide in December, 2017.
