It’s been a busy news week for Vancouver Whitecaps FC, who announced an MLS record transfer of Alphonso Davies to Bayern Munich and reached their first Canadian Championship final since 2016.
Minnesota United FC come to BC Place on a season-best three-game winning streak, but all three victories, including a stunning 5-1 rout of LAFC, came at TCF Bank Stadium. Outside of Minneapolis, the Loons are 1-8-0 this season.

Vancouver Whitecaps FC
Vancouver (7-9-5) rallied from a 1-0 loss in the opening leg of the Canadian Championship semifinals at Stade Saputo last week to beat the Montreal Impact, 2-0, Wednesday night at BC Place.
Yordy Reyna slotted in a shot off a Jake Nerwinski assist for the game’s opening goal in the 19th minute. Kei Kamara then netted the decisive goal from the penalty spot on the hour mark after Marcel de Jong drew a penalty from Shamit Shome.
“I’m pleased for them, I really am. I thought it was a very professional, organized, disciplined, great character,” Carl Robinson said. “Top performance by the boys. And again, when you go through periods of a little bit of inconsistency, you find out about yourself and your team and things like that.”

Minnesota United FC
After knocking off Real Salt Lake and New England, Minnesota United (9-11-1) picked up their most impressive win of the season, defeating LAFC, 5-1, at home Sunday.
Rasmus Schuller and Benny Feilhaber scored one minute apart midway through the first half before Christian Ramirez and Darwin Quintero struck one minute apart late in the first half, and Ibarra and Ramirez followed with a pair of goals two minutes apart in the second half.
“I thought some of the goals were fantastic,” Adrian Heath said. “And, you know, we had so many other opportunities. And big moments, and I’ve said it a lot, are really important that you score at the appropriate time. And I felt that we did today.”
