LA Galaxy sign goalkeeper Justin Vom Steeg from their USL squad

TRANSACTION TRACKER STATUS: Signing

The LA Galaxy announced Tuesday they have signed goalkeeper Justin Vom Steeg after the 20-year-old played one season with their USL club, LA Galaxy II.

Vom Steeg will join David Bingham and Brian Sylvestre as goalkeepers on the Galaxy's roster.

“Justin has shown impressive development in his first year with our organization,” Galaxy coach Sigi Schmid said in a statement. “He has a lot of potential and we’re excited to add a promising talent like Justin to our roster.”

Vom Steeg signed with LA Galaxy II last September and started four games for Los Dos before the close of the season. Previously, he had signed with German side Fortuna Dusseldorf in August of 2016 after playing college soccer for a season at Santa Barbara.

Internationally, Vom Steeg has represented the United States at five different youth international levels.
