TRANSFER TRACKER STATUS: Report
Renewed reports out of Poland claim the Chicago Fire are pursuing Polish international Jakub Blaszczykowski.
Chicago-based journalist Guillermo Rivera Tweeted out the interest on Friday:
The Fire were previously linked to Blaszczykowski, both in the summer window and last year.
Blaszczykowski, nicknamed "Kuba," currently plays in the Bundesliga for Wolfsburg. The 31-year-old is most famous for his stint with Borussia Dortmund from 2007 to 2016, with whom he won two Bundesliga titles and reached a Champions League final. He is also an active Polish international, having played in the 2012 and 2016 Euros and served as captain over the years for his country. A versatile player, he has played extensively both as a winger and fullback in his career.
