Toronto FC the slight favorite to win MLS Cup, per ESPN Soccer Power Index

By the narrowest of margins, Toronto FC are the favorites to capture MLS Cup, according to ESPN's Soccer Power Index.


The Reds, who advanced to the Eastern Conference Final thanks to a 7-0 aggregate wipeout of New York City FC in the semifinal round, are given a 56 percent chance to reach the MLS Cup Final and a 29 percent chance to win the title, according to ESPN:

The Colorado Rapids, who face red-hot Seattle Sounders FC in the Western Conference Final, are underdogs to reach the MLS Cup Final, with a 46 percent chance to advance, but if they make it there, they're project to have a 28 percent chance to win the title. Seattle, which ESPN gives a 54 percent chance to reach the final, have a 27 percent chance to win if they get there.


Montreal, who will face Toronto in the Eastern Conference Final, is the least likely to win the title, according to the Soccer Power Index. They are given a 44 percent chance to advance to the MLS Cup final and just a 16 percent chance to win it if they do.
