Two Western Conference clubs above the red line in the Western Conference will look to get back in the win column on Wednesday, as the Vancouver Whitecaps welcome Real Salt Lake to town. The Whitecaps have not won in their last two matches while RSL are winless in their last three games.

  • Both teams are coming off Saturday draws at home. Vancouver played the Colorado Rapids to a 2-2 tie while Salt Lake and the Montreal Impact finished 1-1.
  • The Whitecaps are currently in sixth place in the West, but could close the gap on third-place RSL with a win. Vancouver are currently sitting on 25 points while Salt Lake have 29.
  • The clubs met three times in 2015, and Vancouver won all three games. The Whitecaps first triumphed, 1-0, at RSL on April 18, then picked up a 2-1 victory at home on May 30 before winning again at BC Place by a 4-0 mark on Aug. 8.
  • Whitecaps FC have now gone three consecutive home games without victory, after the Colorado Rapids scored a late, late equalizer to leave the teams in a 2-2 draw 821352596" style="border-bottom-width: 1px; border-bottom-style: dashed; border-bottom-color: rgb(204, 204, 204); position: relative; top: -2px; z-index: 0;" tabindex="0">Saturday evening at BC Place.
