Philadelphia Union to host Sporting Kansas City in 2015 US Open Cup final on September 30

It's official: Philadelphia Union will battle for the 2015 US Open Cup title against Sporting Kansas City.

The final will take place on September 30 at PPL Park, with Philadelphia having the highest priority to host the tournament from the two teams left based on a draw made before the semifinal round.

The Union, who were finalists last year and also hosted the final, defeated the Chicago Fire 1-0 on Wednesday to advance to the final. Sporting, meanwhile, who last won the Open Cup in 2012, beat Real Salt Lake 3-1 on Wednesday.

Kansas City have two USOC titles all-time, while Philadelphia are looking for their first piece of major silverware.
