Colorado Rapids GK Clint Irwin snares Week 30 Save of the Week award for denial of Osvaldo Alonso

Sunday's 4-1 loss to the Seattle Sounders made for a rough outing for Colorado Rapids goalkeeper Clint Irwin, but he has earned a small bit of consolation.

Irwin's nimble parry of Osvaldo Alonso's long-range chip has been voted the MLS Save of the Week for Week 30, outpacing Bobby Shuttleworth of the New England Revolution by 10 percentage points.

This marks Irwin's second capture of SotW this season. The 25-year-old from Charlotte, North Carolina currently finds himself part of Rapids coach Pablo Mastroeni's three-man goalkeeping rotation along with Joe Nasco and John Berner, with all three GKs having started matches in recent weeks.
