Yannick Djalo’s big night has come with a big reward.
The San Jose Earthquakes forward was voted Major League Soccer Player of the Week by the North American Soccer Reporters (NASR) for Week 20 of the 2014 MLS season.
Djalo notched a goal and two assists in the Earthquakes’ 5-1 victory last Wednesday night over the Chicago Fire.
He first set up a Shea Salinas goal in the 45th minute, and Cordell Cato in the 84th minute.
Djalo’s goal came in the 79th minute with a cheeky chip at the expense of Fire goalkeeper Sean Johnson (video above).
Djalo is the first Earthquakes player to win the award this year (see how the North American Soccer Reporters voted here).
